What is sodium ascorbyl phosphate?

Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate is a water soluble salt of ascorbic acid.  When applied onto skin, this stabilized form of vitamin c metabolizes and converts into ascorbic acid and as a result, helps to brighten skin and boost collagen to prevent early signs of aging.  Sodium ascorbyl phosphate works at a higher pH than products containing ascorbic acid, and as a result could be a suitable form of Vitamin C for those with sensitive skin.
