Treating Teen Skin

treating teen skin, Daily Greens Moisturizer

During this phase of life, all genders are going through hormonal changes which can wreak havoc on the skin. Some are more affected than others, but even if breakouts are not being experienced it is also a prime time to start developing healthy skincare habits. As we always say: prevention is easier than correction.

Teens tend to be on the go with a lot on their plate. Keeping the routine simple is a great way to motivate them and make a skincare regimen feel approachable.

Always start the cleansing process with clean hands.

Treat with Facial in a Bottle Serum

2-3 x a week use Mint Poppy Seed Polish after cleansing either in the morning or evening

Mornings can be hectic as teens rush out of the house, so if only one step can happen in the morning, make it putting on SPF. If your teen plays outdoor sports, then have them reapply before practice. Any breakouts that are exposed to the sun will cause scarring, plus most sun damage happens in the early 20s. Starting the habit of SPF daily is one that will benefit everyone the most for a healthy aging journey. They might not thank you at the moment, but future versions of them will be thankful!

The evening routine will be key in helping to balance out all of the extra sebum production from the surge of hormones. Excess sebum production paired with dead skin build-up and exposure to bacteria is the underlying factor to most breakouts. Facial in a Bottle is a one-step serum that has ingredients to target all of these factors. AC.NET™ helps to balance oil production, azelaic acid helps to kill bacteria, and bakuchiol helps to regulate cellular turnover. Have your teen think of their evening routine as an extension of their homework. Bonus points for not picking their skin and changing their pillowcases 1-2 times a week.

Breakouts can extend down to the chest and even the back, if this is the case make sure the application of products is extending to these areas.

Now for the parent’s homework…

– Make sure drinking water becomes a habit. Avoiding an abundance of sugary drinks will help keep the skin happy and healthy.

– Try to encourage a balanced diet with plenty of fruits and vegetables. We know… this is easier said than done ????

– Reminder these habits will be beneficial throughout life

– Take into consideration that prevention before a problem is much easier to control as far as skin concerns

Should your teen get hooked on their regimen and want to expand we have great news for you… Add some extra chores to their list and take some things off the full plate you have as well ???? Don’t forget to pat yourself on the back for setting them up with a life habit.
